• Diplomat of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

• Board Certified by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons in Foot Surgery.

• She attended the University of Texas in San Antonio for her undergraduate studies, received a Bachelors in Science.

• Completed her medical education at the Dr.William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, IL 

• Completed Podiatric surgical residency at Loyola University Medical Center and Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Affairs Hospital in Chicago, IL

She completed a three-year foot and ankle surgical residency at Loyola University Medical Center and Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Affairs Hospital in Chicago, IL.  During her residency, Dr. Montes trained in a multi-disciplinary hospital including orthopedics, infectious diseases, and vascular surgery teams, and in a Level 1 trauma center. This specific training allows her to take an integrative approach when caring for patients with limb-threatening illnesses. Dr. Montes is proficient in various podiatric sub-specialties, including wound care, limb salvage, sports medicine, pediatrics, biomechanics, and elective and non-elective surgery not limited to ingrown nails, bunion and hammertoe repair, tendon and ligament ruptures, minimally invasive ligament release for heel pain and other foot deformities and also treats pediatric conditions. She values the importance of continuity when it comes to management of patient care with personalized care to each individual. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality foot and ankle care to her patients. Dr. Montes believes in a patient-centered approach that allows her patients to be active participants in their own treatments. Outside of her practice, Dr. Montes enjoys yoga, Pilates, hiking, salsa dancing, photography, concerts, traveling, learning other languages, and spending time with her family and her mini goldendoodle named Chicago.
